What is the RETA Podcasting Blog?

It's a blog we've created especially for RETA Podcasting workshop participants. It's meant to be a place where you can share with, and learn from, other RETA professionals as you all explore how to use and create educational podcasts.  While only workshop participants can post to the blog, it is open for any teachers to read so they can learn from you and your experiences.

Why have a RETA Podcasting Blog?

There are many professional learning communities organized around using and creating educational podcasts and we think that it would be great if you joined one or more of them.  However, we believe the RETA teachers like yourself also need a place of your own to discuss and share podcasting information because you, as primarily NM K12 teachers, encounter situations and circumstances unique to teaching in New Mexico.  Plus, it's just really nice to be able to connect with teachers who are sharing similar learning experiences like the ones you are getting in this workshop series.

OK. I'm sold! How do I become a member? :)

It's easy (and free, of course!) Simply click on the link "contact owner" at the bottom of this page.  That will bring up an email form.  In the subject line, write something that let's me know you're requesting to become a blog member ("blog membership request" or "I want to join the blog").  This will help me easily spot your email.  In the body of the message, tell me the name of your RETA instructor, your name, and the email address you will use to log into blogger.com.  I will send your invitation to that email address.

Don't worry if you don't have a blogger account already. You'll be prompted to create an account when you accept the invitation (accepting the invitation is a simple matter of clicking on the link you receive in your email).  However, if you already have a blogger account created, send me that email address so that this blog membership will be tied in with your other blogs.  For those of you who have gmail accounts, you might want to use that email address because, although you may not know it, you already have a blogger account.

How do I contribute to the RETA Podcasting Blog?

There are three ways you can contribute to our blog. Watch this video to see how! Also, if you become a member, you will easily be able to contribute audio and video podcasts to the blog! I've already set up the podcast feed for our blog so you can subscribe to it (you'll learn how during the Finding and Subscribing to Podcasts workshop) and contribute podcasts to it (which you'll learn how to do in the Creating Audio Podcasts workshop and in the Creating Video Podcasts workshop).  I look forward to reading, listening, and viewing your blog posts and podcasts!
